The basic pattern is that when I post, it gets flagged and removed for offending “community standards.” I realize I can be snarky, especially when provoked, and I am easily provoked. But the nasty remarks about me usually remain up.
Yesterday was fun. I posted this under the heading "Let's Get Real":
I’m hearing that the Bronx and Upper Manhattan branches of DSA voted overwhelmingly to endorse AOC for Congress, with similar results in Queens.
So is the real DSA the sectarian servants of brotherhood on this board, or is it the huge majority that supports Bernie, The Squad and, presumably, their posture as leaders in the Democratic Party?
This was the edited version. I replaced what I originally wrote (I've forgotten what it was), which was flagged, with "servants of brotherhood," figuring it would take some time for the tone police to get the joke. It did. Then the update was flagged too.
Finally the moderator locked the entire thread down (disparaging comments about me remaining up), saying "After several flags and that this is a slightly edited duplicate post, I am locking this thread. This isn’t the way to begin a discussion." Then she 'unlisted' the thread, which I suppose is the ultimate form of erasure.
Evidently troublesome types can be suspended, so I have that to look forward to.
If you choose to spend your time popping the pimples of intellectual acne, you're going to get covered in zit juice. I gave up on the DSA a while ago.
