I’ve now seen all three of these things. They are pretty well done, as B-grade horror/SciFi movies go. The basic plot line is survivors of a holocaust making their way through a ravaged landscape, with monsters ready to jump out of nowhere at the drop of a hat.
It’s hard to imagine those things exterminating civilization. Sure they are big, super-strong, and incredibly fast, but they are also dumb and blind. They can be killed with a well-placed gunshot, and they have a big vulnerability. Surely our well-armed populace could have dispatched them, albeit with serious losses. Probably the aliens would have done much better in Europe, because, you know, gun control. It’s hard to think of any other potential benefit for the so-called 2nd Amendment.
My other silly question is how do these things get around without bumping into things if they can’t see, and how to they manage to hunt their prey?
I don’t want to give anything away except to note that the ending rips off the much greater movie, one of my favorites actually, Mars Attacks!
