Since I moved here, as the county turned blue, there have been several attacks by the county sheriff on liberal Facebook groups, all resulting in zip, as well as fake scandals aimed at the public school system. There have been other interventions in local politics by the attorney-general, all of which came to naught.
In the face of all that, Democrats have retained control of the county board of supervisors and the county school board. They also kept the Congressional seat in VA District 10 in Democratic hands, following the retirement forced upon Rep. Jennifer Wexton, due to illness. In special elections, Loudoun County voters just elected two Democrats by comfortable 60-40 majorities to maintain Democratic control of both houses of the state legislature. The new congressman and both new members of the legislature are all South Asians.
