I think Substack is OK for this. Some of the websites I use still have blogrolls, and I got some new reading from (one? some?) of them.

I designed my wife's website, https://marilynrobert.com, using Website Builder from Godaddy. It was pretty easy and they had good support. It's easy to maintain, for instance with new images or updated resume.

By way of comparison, I built her earlier website just with HTML. Of course, it's still around, at https://web.archive.org/web/20170310032434/http://www.marilynrobert.com/. And as I wrote you some time ago, a lot of your old blog posts are still around on the Internet Archive. A cheap way to make it easy to access them would be to list their URLs in one of your posts here; espcially if you did that, say, quarterly.

WordPress has canned blog designs too. My problem is, in a vain effort to preserve my "brand," I want the new site to look like the old one. Another wrinkle is I would like the old blog posts to appear as they did originally, with the old comments if possible.

You say that the ranks of intolerable left pretenders have swelled. Word. But that's a good thing! More nuts on the far end of the bell curve means that the curve is skewing left. I think.
