I've driven there often. You just have to get used to shooting the gap, when you have them. You assert yourself, others will give way. It's easier with a big old SUV. My wife tends to have a lot of stuff to carry, plus the train station is a good hour drive. We can drive right to the rental or hotel, unload, and park two blocks away. Bring all the stuff you want there and back. Plus stop at a diner on the way. Food on the train is yuck.
Yeah train food is terrible. When I would go to Vt to visit my daughter in college I would run out of the station to a deli across from Madison Square Garden. Fortunately service there was fast.
