I want to weigh in on the call from Jeremy Gong and Nick French (“G-F”) for a new progressive mass organization, and the response from Jared Abbott and David Duhalde (“A-D”). I’m a member of DSA’s North Star Caucus, but this reaction is not any sort of collective caucus statement. My guess is that no more than a minority of North Star would agree with it.
Nu? What's wrong with the Working Families Party? It's organized already, and fits the gap between the sclerotic Democrats and the juvenile DSA. They have a good sense of when to support the Democrats, and when to fight them.
Hi Zig. Didn't the WFP get rolled by Cuomo in NY? Aside from that, I think they are just fine wherever they operate.
However, I think the democratic socialist brand is important as a direction to promote, and DSA is the only one doing that. WFP does have the advantage of being non-sectarian and not being influenced by naive ultra-lefts.
Party Like It’s 1999!
